Falling In Reverse

Out on tour with Falling in Reverse, playback engineer Tristan Boyadjiev Mitchell has been holding down the show’s digital backbone — running playback, VFX, timecode, MIDI, and more. Behind the chaos of lights, pyro, and performance, there’s a carefully built system keeping every moment locked in sync.

On a tour of this scale, playback isn’t just a background process — it’s the heartbeat of the show. The system driving Falling in Reverse’s live production handles multitrack playback, video cues, timecode, and MIDI routing across a network of custom components built for speed and reliability.

Tristan sums it up best:

“Working in the world of live show playback I’ve been in the ‘hot seat’ many times when an artist or MD asks me to make last minute edits. Having a solid grasp on the technical side of the playback rig and the routing can be extremely useful in these moments.

There are always new pieces of equipment being built and many times useful functions are hidden within them. It’s easy to skim the surface and learn the basics, however finding the time to explore each piece of gear more deeply is something I would highly suggest in the case of these high pressure moments.”

It’s a reminder that deep technical understanding pays off when it matters most. Knowing the gear inside and out — not just how to use it, but how it thinks — makes all the difference when the clock is ticking and the next song needs to roll.

At SYNCRO, we design and build systems for those exact moments: when adaptability, precision, and calm expertise keep the show alive.
