Teddy Swims:
Behind the Rig

There’s a lot more happening behind the curtain than most fans ever realize. While the spotlight hits center stage, deep in the mix world, engineer JT Gagarin is commanding a different kind of performance, one made not of melodies and lyrics, but of sample rates and digital pathways.

At the heart of Teddy Swim’s most recent tour, was a custom DirectOut Prodigy MP rig, meticulously built, pushing pristine multitrack playback and live vocal processing across SoundGrid and AES protocols.

The Prodigy MP isn't just a playback box, it's a central nervous system, dynamically routing audio with surgical precision, allowing JT to shape a mix that feels both powerful and intimate, night after night.

To keep all show elements in perfect sync, our custom MioXM MIDI pods were working behind the scenes to handle timecode and MIDI connectivity to the stage.

Of course, none of this comes together alone. Huge thanks to Glen Canyon Audio and Beard Build SCA for collaborating on this build. Their expertise helped us take this rig from concept to a tour-ready workhorse.
